I paint Australian landscapes to express the experience of being in nature.  The landscapes are not literal. They sit somewhere between memory, imagination, and the physical experience of being in a place. Using oil paints, I explore lines, shapes, textures and colours to reflect the energy, mood and sense of place. The canvas records, in paint, the decisions, pauses, and changes that occur during this process.

Exploring the possibility of what exists beyond the view is where the magic lies. What matters is how a place is felt rather than seen, and how the feeling lingers once you leave.
